This FREE annual concert, conducted by Dr. John Falskow, will celebrate 250 years of freedom and independence for our nation. Benaroya’s stage will ignite with energy, color, and festive music in honor and celebration of America’s birthday. The concert will feature a diverse array of American composers, with selections representing the many powerful voices that enrich our nation. Concert host Dave Beck (Classical KING host) will narrate Aaron Copland’s powerful Lincoln Portrait and we will honor the service of our active military and veterans with a Salute to the Armed Forces. Local composer Megan Vinther will conduct a special performance of Under Pines and Stars, music she composed to pay tribute to the Pacific Northwest. The Star-Spangled Chorus returns to the stage under the direction of Dr. Linda Gingrich and will join the band for a rousing rendition of John Phillip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of wind band music or a first-time listener, this festive program promises to uplift, delight, and honor our nation and its people through the power of music. Don’t miss this joyous occasion – let’s celebrate in harmony!
